Hodder Gibson is the leading provider of textbooks, revision materials and practice papers for schools and students in Scotland. We are also the publishers of the Official SQA Past Papers.

What you’ll be doing
We are looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous Editorial Assistant to support our Glasgow-based editorial team and help to deliver a range of exciting new educational resources for Scotland’s teachers and learners.
You will be working with our team on the editorial production of Gibson front-list titles, from books and eBooks to digital products in our Dynamic Learning platform.
The responsibilities of the role will include liaising with authors, freelance staff and colleagues across internal departments to ensure publication deadlines are met, checking copy-edits and proofreading, collating proofs, clearing permissions, providing office administrative support, updating and maintaining a range of internal systems, managing our reprint process, checking marketing and sales materials and much more.
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be:
- Motivated, enthusiastic and with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Highly organised with a meticulous eye for detail
- Able to multitask, problem-solve and organise effectively
- Confident with excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to build positive working relationship with contacts at all levels
- A competent administrator with knowledge of a range of digital applications and systems (incl. MS Office)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently on multiple projects
- Customer focused, with an interest in educational publishing

Salary Range: £20,000 -22,000 (pro rata) depending on experience
