EMILIA FOX TO READ W&N’S DAZZLING NOVEL, SORROW AND BLISS

Weidenfeld and Nicolson are delighted to announce that the unabridged audiobook of Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason will be narrated by Emilia Fox. Spiky, sharp and told with heart-breaking tenderness, Sorrow and Bliss is a dazzling novel about modern love up against the confusing, sad aches of mental illness – with all its highs, lows, humour and misery. Silent Witness and Trial of Christine Keeler star Emilia Fox is a hugely experienced and well-loved audiobook narrator.

Paul Stark, Senior Audio Manager, said: We’re so pleased that Emilia Fox is narrating for us – she’s one of the best readers in the business and her voice suits the book’s beautiful writing perfectly.

Meg Mason, author, said: ‘As an author, it is a relief to feel that your work is safe in the hands of a chosen narrator, but it is rare and wonderful to know, utterly as I do with Emilia Fox, that your work is going to gain so much from their talent and unique, thoughtful interpretation of the story and its characters. I feel immensely lucky, and so excited for readers who come to SORROW AND BLISS this way.’

Emilia Fox is best known for her role as Dr Nikki Alexander in BBC’s Silent Witness. She started her career in acclaimed BBC adaptations such as Pride and Prejudice and ITV’s Rebecca. Emilia’s career includes working in theatre, film, and television.

Emilia is also known for her role as Sam in Sky’s Delicious with Dawn French and as Sally in Strangers opposite John Simm for ITV. Earlier this year, she also starred as Valerie Hobson in The Trial of Christine Keeler for BBC. Emilia is currently filming the new series of Silent Witness for BBC & presenting In The Footsteps of Killers for Channel 4. Both are due out in Spring 2021.
