TIME SHELTER by Georgi Gospodinov – longlisted for the International Booker Prize 🏆

Georgi Gospodinov’s brilliant TIME SHELTER has made the longlist for the hugely prestigious International Booker Prize.

The prize is awarded annually for the finest single work of fiction from around the world which has been translated into English.

The judges said of TIME SHELTER:

A wide-ranging, thought-provoking, macabre and humorous novel about nationality, identity and ageing, and about the healing and destructive power of memory. It asks the question: what is our place in 20th century history, when that history seems to be constantly shifting? ‘Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be,’ they say, and this book shows us – in moving, funny and disturbing ways – how and why.

The longlist of 13 books was announced today. The shortlist will be announced on March 14^th.
